2001
Voith Paper takes over the paper technology divisions of Jagenberg AG, as well as Hermann Finckh Maschinenfabrik and the recycling and dewatering activities of Kvaerner Pulp & Paper (Norway).

2002
Voith presents the Aquatarder, the first retarder worldwide that brakes with water, as well as the T 111 bre, the world’s shortest turbo transmission.

2003
With 1 912 m/min, the Voith PM 1 at Rhein Papier in Huerth sets a speed world record for the production of newsprint.

The Three-Gorges-Power Station generates electricity for the first time.

Voith Industrial Services acquires a stake in the Imo huter Group (Ludwigshafen). Voith Paper strengthens its presence in North Europe with the acquisition of Pikoteknik (Finland).

2004
New business area for Voith Industrial Services: Foundation of the DIW Windservice April, 1st.

Voith Turbo GmbH & Co. KG (Heidenheim, Germany) acquires H+L Hydraulik GmbH (Rutesheim, Germany) on October, 1st.

Laying of the foundation stone for the Voith Paper Technology Center in Heidenheim on October, 26th.

2005
At the end of May 2005, Voith Industrial Services further expands its leading position in the market for technical services through the acquisition of the US-American Premier Group. Premier is active primarily in North and South America and constitutes an ideal supplement of the Voith Industrial Services portfolio.

Voith Siemens Hydro has acquired Wavegen in Inverness. Founded in 1990, Wavegen leads the way in the production of wave energy systems, as well as the research and the development of this technology.

2006
Per 1 January 2006, DIW Deutsche Industriewartung AG, a subsidiary of Voith Industrial Services, has acquired the majority in Hörmann Industrietechnik GmbH. Hörmann Industrietechnik is a specialist for complex technical industrial services, with a special focus on the automotive industry.

On 11 May 2006, the Voith Paper Technology Center in Heidenheim, the world's most advanced paper research center, was opened. For the first time, the entire paper making process can be tested and optimized under realistic conditions. What papermakers all over the world have always dreamt of is now a reality: holding the paper of tomorrow in their hands today.

Berlin – " And I name this locomotive Maxima," with these words, Bodil Krey baptized the world's most powerful diesel-hydraulic locomotive at the International Rail Exhibition InnoTrans in Berlin on Tuesday, 19 September 2008. The Maxima® 40 CC from Voith is the most powerful single-engine diesel-hydraulic locomotive in the world.

2007
Minister President Günther H. Oettinger has presented Voith-CEO Prof. Dr. Hermut Kormann with the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany awarded by the Federal President of Germany, Prof. Dr. Horst Köhler. At the presentation ceremony at Villa Reitzenstein in Stuttgart on 3rd May 2007, the Baden-Württemberg head of government appreciated Kormann's entrepreneurial achievements, his social and educational activities and his active involvement in industrial associations and other institutions.

Establishment of a joint venture for new tidal current technology with Renetec, Korea, in July 2007.

In November 2007, Voith Siemens Hydro acquires the Austrian small hydro company Kössler based in St. Georgen.

On 05 November 2007, Voith Industrial Services acquires a 100 percent stake in SIS Skandinavisk Industrieservice A/S in Ringstedt/Denmark. SIS Skandinavisk Industriservice A/S is a leading supplier of technical services for the petrochemical and the chemical industry as well as for power stations in Scandinavia

2008
On 29 February 2008, Voith Industrial Services takes over the German ERMO Group. In Europe, ERMO is a premium supplier for technical services, especially for the petrochemical industry and for power stations.

On 01 April, Dr. Hubert Lienhard takes over from Dr. Hermut Kormann as Chairman of the Board. The successor of Dr. Hubert Lienhard as Chairman of the Board of Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation is Dr. Roland Münch. 

In April 2008, Voith Industrial Services takes over Newtec Kemiteknik AB based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Newtec specializes in technical cleaning and other technical services in the paper, chemical and energy industry.

On 03 June 2008, Voith Industrial Services acquires the majority in the engineering company CeBeNetwork. With this acquisition, the Voith Group Division continues to expand its service portfolio in the engineering segment. At the same time, Voith Industrial Services gains new competencies in the aviation industry. CeBeNetwork is one of the largest suppliers of engineering services to the European aeronautics industry.  

Effective October 1, 2008, Voith Canada, Inc., Hamilton/Canada, acquired all shares in PremiAir Technology, Inc. This company primarily serves the US market and Europe, where its main focus is Germany. PremiAir Technology, Inc. operates in the market for air and drying technology for cellulose, paper and tissue production and will be integrated in Voith Paper Air Systems.
